It further discuss the problems present in Massive MIMO technology implementation. A detailed discussion of Pilot Contamination problem of Massive MIMO is done. Random Access protocols PRACH (Physical Random Access Channel) and SUCR (Strongest User Collision Resolution) has been studied . SUCR Protocol resolves the UE collision to a vast extent. But many other factors are there which are responsible for the failure of these protocols at some point of time. Such factors has been discussed in the paper.

Coded Pilot Access: A Random Access Solution for Massive MIMO Systems

We present a novel access protocol for crowd scenarios in massive MIMO (Multiple-input multiple-output) systems. Crowd scenarios are characterized by a large number of users with intermittent access behavior, whereby orthogonal scheduling is infeasible. In such scenarios, random access is a natural choice. The proposed access protocol relies on two essential properties of a massive MIMO system,...

Performance Analysis of Maximal Spectral Efficiency for Multi-Cell Massive MIMO Systems

Cellular and wireless communication spectral efficiency (SE) increases massive multiple-input multiple-output (M-MIMO) is play vital role, by accommodate hundreds or thousands of antennas at base station (BS) and performed. A common fundamental procedure of M-MIMO systems should have more number of BS antennas M than scheduled users (K), because when M/K>10 the all user equipments (UEs) channel...

Energy-Efficient Uplink Power Allocation in Multi-Cell MU-Massive-MIMO Systems

In this paper, we investigate a joint uplink pilot and data power allocation strategy for energy-efficient communications under pilot contamination in multi-cell multi-user massive multiple-input multiple-output (MU-Massive-MIMO) systems. Assuming the maximum-ratio combining detection and a large number of antennas at the base station, the system energy efficiency (EE) is maximized over the ind...

Resource Allocation for Max-Min Fairness in Multi-Cell Massive MIMO

Massive MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) is considered as an heir of the multi-user MIMO technology and it has recently gained lots of attention from both academia and industry. By equipping base stations (BSs) with hundreds of antennas, this new technology can provide very large multiplexing gains by serving many users on the same time-frequency resources and thereby bring significant imp...

Sectoring in Multi-cell Massive MIMO Systems

In this paper, the downlink of a typical massive MIMO system is studied when each base station is composed of three antenna arrays with directional antenna elements serving 120◦ of the two-dimensional space. A lower bound for the achievable rate is provided. Furthermore, a power optimization problem is formulated and as a result, centralized and decentralized power allocation schemes are propos...
